With three locations in the city of Milwaukee, the Urban Ecology Center carries out a unique cause; bringing children into the city to discover the environment. Children visiting the centers daily can experience climbing walls, rooftop gardens, renewable energy exhibits and local wildlife.
But one of the greatest benefits of the Urban Ecology Center is their ongoing educational efforts partnering with schools and hosting events. Each year, the center partners with over 40 area schools as part of their Neighborhood Environmental Education Program. This program reinforces classroom studies by offering hands-on experiences with science and nature on the grounds of the facilities as well as in area parks. This commitment earns the Urban Ecology Center ongoing national recognition and adoration in the community.
