In December, 2017, the Executive Branch of the U.S. government gave the CDC a list of "prohibited" words for their upcoming budget.  Other government agencies received similar lists. The words on this shirt from the words from the CDC list.

The banning of words is at least censorship and politicalization of objective research; more so, it reinforces discrimination and the continued erosion of freedoms and justice.

In his "Four Freedoms" speech, FDR shared that "the basic things expected by our people of their political and economic systems are simple.  The first is freedom of speech and expression - everywhere in the world. The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way–everywhere in the world. The third is freedom from want–which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants-everywhere in the world. The fourth is freedom from fear–which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor–anywhere in the world."

Nothing about the banning of words is a representation of freedom.

So... this is how I play my small part.  I make a t-shirt that allows us to share these words proudly and demonstrate a shared belief in our freedoms and justice for all.  The funds raised will be divided between the following charities:
