It's been 20 years since that infamous day in American history. September 11th, 2001 was one of the darkest days of our nation's history, but in the aftermath Americans were united in a way unseen before or since. Fast forward to today and our nation feels more divided than ever. The message I want to promote and remind us all of, is that despite our differences we are in fact Stronger Together. What better way to honor those who we lost in 2001 than to live by this creed. I have chosen to donate all the proceeds received from this fundraiser to Heart 9/11, because they were created in the wake of the terrorist attacks in 2001 but they are currently helping Americans in need all throughout our country. Read below Heart 9/11's brief mission statement.
"HEART 9/11 is a team of first responders - FDNY, NYPD, PAPD and the NYC Building Trades - that bonded in the aftermath of September 11, 2001. Together, we build resiliency and provide hope for individuals, families and communities that have been affected by natural and man-made disasters."-Taken from https://www.heart911.org
9/11 should never be forgotten, not just for the tragedy that occured but also for the way it united us. 20 years later, I hope that even our darkest hours can once again turn into brighter days.
Thank you for reading and your support.
