On September 20, 2018 I received the most dreaded phone call ever. You have breast cancer. Fortunately for me, I had a plan for when we got the call, not if. Coming from a long line of cancer survivors, I knew it would soon be my turn. My husband, my two boys nd myself took the bull by the horns and kicked cancers butt. On November 7, 2018 I had a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction and one lymph node removed. Pathology came back with no lymph node involvement and clear margins. The cancer was evicted. Slowly but surely the healing process and road to recovery began. Not really sure when my normal will come back, but I think I am looking at a new normal. I have decided to walk in our local Relay for Life in Warren County, VA on June 8th. If anyone would like to join our team please let me know. My amazing husband desinged my logo which will eventually become a tattoo. Many have asked what they could do throughout my journey to help. We have had amazing support by our local family and friends with meals and help with the boys. Now it is our turn to give back and support our local Relay for Life! Please share the love!
