About the design:
"Powerful art can heal, bring awareness and create change" - Zack Snyder
Inspired by these words DC Film Fans have created a series of t-shirt campaigns leveraging artistic talent within our fan community in order to raise awareness & funds for Suicide Prevention.
Background:
At San Diego ComicCon (SDCC) 2018 a group of fans self-funded and freely distributed t-shirts to Hall H attendees in solidarity with visionary film director Zack Snyder. Believing we could celebrate and leverage art within our fandom to help drive awareness and positive change, the I❤ZS ComicCon design (inspired by actor Ray Fisher) became the first of our charity fundraiser t-shirts for The American Foundation For Suicide Prevention. That fundraiser expanded into several follow up campaigns which have collectively raised tens of thousands of dollars for Suicide Awareness.
Our mission continues...
At this year's ComicCon in New York City the grassroots #ReleaseTheSnyderCut fan community is organizing to have a promotional presence at the event and in doing so will continue our mission to raise awareness and funds for AFSP, who work tirelessly to provide resources and give hope to folks struggling with mental health and offer support for families affected by suicide.
Attendees at the event this year will be wearing our new ReleaseTheSnyderCut design for NYCC, created by fan & designer Ramesh De Silva. This design proclaims the movement's goal of achieving the release of Zack Snyder's Directors Cut of Justice League through positive advocacy, promotion and engagement - and on the back expresses our continued solidarity with the Snyder family.
The theme of this ComicCon shirt is "Heroes".
Organizations such as AFSP, and the folks who help fund and spread awareness, are true every-day superheroes. We thank everyone who has supported this and previous campaigns.
For Powerful Art.
Heal. Bring Awareness. Create Change.
