Black Lives Matter Milwaukee

All lives matter yes every Black person ,every White person, every Asian person, every Hispanic person, and every person that swears to protect and serve this country life matters... But historically to the present Black lives did not matter because if they did we wouldn't have been stolen, sold, beat into submission and have to earn the rights that others had since birth...

This campaign is merely a single mother's prayer that my son will never grow up questioning if his life matters to the world around him.

God Bless!

Full story

Born and raised I was never scared of the police. I learned at a young age they were there to protect me. They drove through my neighborhood, gave us baseball cards and told us to be careful riding our bikes in the street.

I fear that my son will not grow up with that same peace of mind. When I know and do my best to teach him there are good officers out there who get over shadowed by the ones who abuse their authority.

Born and raised for me gun violence was always present but not at the rate it is today. When I was young you minded your own business,  and if you got into a fight you used your fists and went on home.

I fear that my son will not grow up with that same peace of mind. When I know there are people shooting eachother for not getting their order right in the drive thru.

Lastly I want to leave you with a facebook status I wrote March 12, 2015 when my son was only three years old.

I AM ABSOLUTELY DUMBFOUNDED AND MY SOUL IS SAD FROM A CONVERSATION I JUST HAD WITH JACE!

On commercial break from Gray's
Jace: Momma she just said that someone killed her son.
Me: Yes, I would be sad if that were me.
Jace: Momma you would be sad if the police killed me
Me: Where did you hear that?
Jace: I see it on that show all the time. (commercial for the news)

How do I  protect my son and teach him to make it home safe every night when the police who abuse their authority are not the only ones that are killing men and boys that look like him?

God Bless!
