All around the world, including in our own communities, we see the far-reaching effects of hatred and intolerance. We see the suffering of mothers and children. We see hopeless faces and acts of desperation. We see that when people don't learn a different, more loving, and peaceful way sometimes the only changes are for the worst.
I believe that peace begins at birth! As an activist, I believe that empowered mothers and fathers with access to good educational and community resources are a key to raising future generations who see the value in peace and love and acceptance. I'd like to leave a better, safer, more loving world for my own children too, and for them to carry on the spirit of peace.
In my corner of the world, in a city with many problems, a city that contiually tops lists of negativity, I aim to do my small part and am beginning a non-profit resource for parents from pregnancy through early parenting! This includes collaborative efforts through educational resources with Birth Memphis, volunteer birth and bereavement doula services, and building partnerships with other organizations to form a community safety net for growing Memphis families! I love Memphis! I love the people of Memphis! I want to see more Memphians thriving! I want to see them thriving when they bring their babies home!
