As a single parent and steward of this country, I feel a responsiblity to set an example for my children and grandchildren. It would appear as though the voice of the people is being drowned out by the voice of corporate greed and we must, at some point take a stand. That time is now.
I would like to help those brave and steadfast souls at Standing Rock. Thoiugh I can't be there in person, I would like to do my part. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Water Protectors at Standing Rock. Not only are they protecting land that is rightfully theirs, but they are safeguarding the water that gives life to them and the land.
I want to leave my children a whole and healthy world with beautiful forests, meadows and prairies teeming with wildlfe. I want them and all generations to come to have access to education, healthcare, a stable environment and ecomomic opportunities. We have a responsibility to this world and all of those who live in it. It is imperative that we make OUR voices heard and stand with those fighting injustice, inequality and corruption of our ways and our planet.
As a 5 year cancer survivor, I know how important it is to act. Our days are not guaranteed and we need to make the most of our "todays".
